TREE PLANTING
At Sweetgrass 512 we believe that the best landscape is the most self-sufficient, most efficient and least maintenance. Therefore, when you want to plant a new tree, we make a recognition of the place where it will be planted to help you decide which tree will be ideal. It will always be better to choose a native or naturalized tree, which will live harmoniously with other animal and plant species, and will adapt more easily to climatic, water and nutritional conditions.
TRIMMING
INITIATION PRUNING: Pruning of a tree begins from when it is young, when it must be given a formative pruning so that it grows adequately in the human environment. That is, so that it adapts in the best way to the habitat of which it begins to be part and so that it develops a robust, resistant and beautiful structure.
MAINTENANCE PRUNING: When growing in an urban or peri-urban environment, the tree requires regular pruning, especially during the growth and consolidation stage. With these prunings, the aim is for the tree to keep growing in the right direction, to stay strong and healthy, to reduce the risk of falling branches or structural failure of the trunk, and to have the desired size and shape to be compatible with the other elements of the landscape.
CORRECTIVE PRUNING: When a tree has not been pruned during its life, it is common to require corrective pruning to reduce risks. In general, when it has not been properly maintained, it is difficult to give it a suitable aesthetic shape, but corrective pruning will allow the life of the tree to be prolonged and an accident that affects properties or human life itself will be avoided.
FOCUSED PRUNING: This type of pruning is aimed at solving specific requirements, by cutting selected branches or reducing the growth field of the tree, according to different intervention needs, such as the construction of a house, road, or the installation of an equipment.
REMOVAL
ORDINARY REMOVAL: Trees are slow growing beings with difficult germination. They provide important services to habitat and human life, and in turn, during their development process they have used a large number of resources to become healthy and strong. The decision to cut them must be made carefully and considering all possible alternatives. It is necessary when the tree is dead, in an irreversible process of degradation, or when there is a threat of collapse.
EMERGENCY REMOVAL: Storms, floods or mistakes in caring for a tree can lead to it falling on houses, streets and other urban structures. The collapse can be partial or total, but in general it will require a complete removal, since the tree is structurally damaged, it will not be able to recover and its permanence in that state will be a constant threat to human life.
